The sudden departure of Kannada actor-turned-politician Ramya as head of the Congress' social media department following the party's defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has remained a mystery. Rivalries inside the party were blamed for Ramya-Divya Spandana's retirement from politics, but the former Mandya Lok Sabha member has disclosed one "disastrous blunder" she made while directing the party's social media tactics. The episode occurred in August 2018, when Rahul Gandhi, the then-Congress president, was in Germany with a group of former party MPs, and images of his tour of the Bundestag museum in Berlin embarrassed him much.
